The Northwood-Kensett Board of Directors met on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 at 8:00 P.M. in the Secondary Vocal Music Room and conducted the following business:

Amended the 2013-2014 Budget


Elementary Principal:
1) Kindergarten orientation attendance of 35 
2) 5th/6th grade spring concert on May 16th 
3) Pre-school graduation on May 15 and 16 and classes going to June 2nd 
4)  6th grade orientation on May 21

Secondary Principal:
1) Community Connection Day and Leadership Summit on May 7th 
2) Graduation practice May 15th at 2:00 and Commencement on May 18th at 1:30
1) Presentation to the Northwood Lions Club on our Facilities Time Line 
2) Disposal of outdated computers 
3) Pre-School Tuition
4) Foreign Language Waiver Request 
5) Retirement Reception, May 7th 4-5pm 
6) Concession Stand renovation estimated at $28,560 and cost to be shared with Booster Club

1) Next meeting is June 9th at 7:00 
2) Teacher Appreciation Week

Old Business: 
Bleacher Pad Update

New Business
Supt. Crozier presented Certificates of Appreciation to Board Members for School Board Recognition month.

Approved the class of 2014 for graduation pending successful completion of the Northwood-Kensett graduation requirements

Approved the disposal of outdated computers by selling them to non-profit organizations.  Set of 24 desktop computers from elementary lab and lots of 25 student laptops.  

Approved raising the 3 year old tuition to $75 per month and the 4 year old tuition to $85 per month

Approved changing our Life/ADD/LTD insurance carrier to The Hartford managed by Mercer, our current health insurance broker.

Approved the foreign language waiver request to the Iowa Dpt of Education for the 2013-14 school year

Adjourned the meeting at 8:45 pm
