The Northwood-Kensett Board of Directors met in a Regular Meeting on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in the Elementary Media Center at 7:00 P.M.

Members present: Roger Harris; Larry Hovey; John Anderson
Members Absent: Cindy Pangburn; Susan Kliment

(3-0) Approved the agenda with correction of item IV to read 2018-2019 Budget Public Hearing; March 8th and March 28th board minutes; Financial Reports for March; April bills for payment

    President Hovey opened the public hearing for the 2018-2019 Budget at 7:02 pm
    Comments: no public comments received
    Public hearing closed at 7:03 pm

New Business
(3-0) Approved the proposed published budget for 2018-19 school year
    
(3-0) Approved the Second Reading of Board Policy Changes:  507.9 Wellness Policy and 507.9R1 Wellness Regulation

(3-0) Approved procedures to ensure all students benefit from counseling services and procedures for review of disaggregated course enrollment data regarding civil rights issues

(3-0) Approved a resolution regarding opposition to the elimination of the Commercial Property Tax cut backfill

(3-0) Approved ratification of negotiated agreement between the NKEA and the Northwood-Kensett Board of Education for 2018-2019 school year

(3-0) Approved issuing letters of assignment for classified personnel for 2018-2019 as presented by Superintendent Crozier

(3-0) Approved issuing contracts for Bus Drivers, Director of Transportation, Director of Technology, Business Manager/Board Secretary, School Nurse for 2018-2019 as presented by Superintendent Crozier

(3-0) Approved issuing two year continuing contracts for the principals and superintendent for 2018-2019 and 2019-2020 as presented by Superintendent Crozier
    
(3-0) Approved a resolution appointing Bankers Trust Company of Des Moines, IA to service as paying agent, Bond Registrar and Transfer Agent; and approving the paying agent, Bond Registrar and Transfer Agent agreement; and authorizing the execution of same
    
(3-0) Approved that the form of Tax Exemption Certificate be placed on file
    
(3-0) Approved that the form of Continuing Disclosure Certificate by placed on file
    
(3-0) Approved a resolution authorizing the issuance of general obligation school bonds, series 2018, of the Northwood-Kensett Community School District, State of Iowa in the amount of $5,900,000 and levying a tax for the payment thereof
    
 (3-0) Accepted the resignation of Kate Hartman as Junior High Boys Basketball Coach

(3-0) Approved Ellen Gallagher as volunteer softball coach

(3-0) Accepted the resignation of Terri Sculley, secondary associate, who plans to retire at the end of the 2017-2018 school year

(3-0) Accepted the resignation of Tom Sculley, bus driver, who plans to retire at the end of the 2017-2018 school year

(3-0) Accepted the resignation of Denise Schacht, secondary associate, at the end of the 2017-2018 school year

(3-0) Approved Jarrod Littlejohn as Assistant Baseball coach for summer 2018
