Superintendent Michael Crozier

The Northwood-Kensett Community School District is proud to announce its new superintendent, Michael Crozier. He brings a wealth of experiences to the district, mainly in the areas of communication, forming partnerships with the community, and “Systems Thinking” leadership. Implementing a student advisory program, giving the students a voice in policy matters, implementing a 1:1 computer program for 9-12 students, and construction of a new football and track facility were recent accomplishments of Mr. Crozier while serving as the Martensdale-St. Marys Secondary Principal for the past six years.

Mr. Crozier graduated from Melcher-Dallas High School, in Iowa and earned his bachelor’s degree from Graceland University in Lamoni, Iowa. He taught at Willow of Quimby, spent time at Briar Cliff University and Avila University in the role of Athletic Director prior to becoming a principal.  He has also served as the health teacher, Dean of Students, Curriculum Director, and Activities Director at Twin Cedars Community School District in Bussey, Iowa. Mr. Crozier obtained his masters degree from the University of South Dakota, and his superintendent certification, through Iowa State University in Ames.

Michael is married to Debbie, and they have a Morkie puppy named Pippa. He enjoys playing golf and spending time with his family. Mr. Crozier is an avid Kansas City Chiefs and Royals fan.

Mr. Crozier has an open-door policy and is anxious to meet all students, staff, parents, and community members. “I am so impressed with everyone I have met. Everyone has truly welcomed us into the community and I am honored to lead our school district.” Mr. Crozier wants to create a strong partnership between the school and community to “Create healthy, educated, ethical and productive citizens.” You may contact him in the following ways: (W) 641-324-2021, email at mcrozier@nwood-kensett.k12.ia.us, or visits to his office.
