Richard Moen Scholarship

THE RICHARD MOEN AVIATION SCHOLARSHIP FUND CRITERIA

1. Candidate must be a senior graduating from Northwood-Kensett Secondary Junior-Senior High School.

2. Candidate must have a minimum grade point average of 2.5.

3. Candidate's involvement in the community and reputation will be considered.

4. Candidate's financial need will be considered.

5. The scholarship will be made available only to students pursuing one of the following areas of study: a. A college or university accredited program in aeronautical or aerospace engineering, aviation sciences-business management, airframe and power plant mechanic (A&P), or equivalent such as "Spartan School of Aeronautics", "Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, or "Emery Aviation College". b. An approved course for pilot training for commercial pilot, instructor, or air transport pilot. c. An approved course for training as an aviation electronics technician. **In the event that in any given year there are no qualifying students pursuing the areas of study described in 5 (a-c) above, the scholarship may be made available to a senior who meets the other criteria and is pursuing a degree in the medical field including dental assistant or dentist and in pre-medicine for doctor or nurses training leading to a registered nurse degree. The scholarship will not discriminate by gender, race, ethnicity or religion."
