Pi Day 2022 Recap

March 22, 2022

NK Math Club Members, who organize our annual Pi Day event:

Pi Reciting Contest Results:

recited 37, 33, 26, and 67 digits of pi respectively.
Record is still held by Sydney Welch with 188 digits recited in 2021.
The Math Club hosted the first Pi Day Pie Eating Contest:
Each grade was represented.

Drake Tiedemann was the winner.

"Pie a Teacher" Math Club Fundraiser

Raffle tickets at $1 a piece were sold to students for a chance to pie a teacher.  20 teachers were on the list.  This being Mrs. Willert's last year as Math Club Advisor, went along with allowing one of the senior club members to pie her.

The silent pie auction collected $610.50 toward math club calculator scholarships.  Top selling pie was Mrs. Willert's strawberry for $65 to Mr. Hunt's parents.
